Certitude – know for sure

Certitude – know for sure

14-19 January 2019

There are times in life when you just know something. Oprah calls it ‘know for sure’. We all have times in our life when that happens. When we act on what we know for sure we feel like we are guided in the right direction, we feel compelled to act and follow our instincts.

You feel that you need to contact a friend, start or finish a specific task, there’s little signs that you receive that only you get, it is called your gut instinct and that’s when you know for sure that what you are feeling is guidance of some sort. It is thinking for yourself.

Sometimes you follow it, sometimes you don’t. Do you only trust in the small things and not the big things in life? What path does your instincts guide you to follow? Sometimes your head gets in the way and you take a path that you think, rather than feel, is the better path to follow.

What I know for sure is that we need to teach our children to follow their instincts, think for themselves and have confidence in themselves because there will always be so called friends and other people in their life that want them to do something that does not serve them which could have serious consequences. We can all think of times in our life when this happened to us.

What sort of difference do you think it would make in your child’s life, or your life, if you followed your instincts and trusted your feelings in regard to what action to take or not to take regardless of what others are saying? Where we all encourage and support each other to live, grow and develop in accordance with our higher purpose, can you imagine that?

“An unexamined faith is not worth having, for fundamentalism and uncritical certitude entail the rejection of one of the great human gifts: that of free will, of the liberty to make up our own minds based on evidence and tradition and reason.” – Jon Meacham

How do you build character? You focus on one characteristic a week. Often when people go through challenging times in their life they are referred to as character building opportunities. We strive to help you build your character on a weekly basis so that when you go through challenging times, as we all do, you will be better equipped emotionally and mentally to tackle and cope with what life throws at you. By joining our tribe you will not only contribute by creating the world you want to live in – you will inspire others to do the same. Be the change you want to see in the world. Make a difference.

How to practice the ‘Character Of The Week’ (5 mins a day max.):

  • Every morning: 1) Read the card; 2) Reflect on what the card is saying to you right now; 3) Have a great day by trusting that this characteristic will come to mind at the right time during your day
  • Every evening: 1) Reflect whether, when and how you strengthened this characteristic today; 2) if you did strengthen it be proud of who you are; if you didn’t strengthen that characteristic what would do differently next time if you got the opportunity.
  • Life is all about living and learning – and taking action – enjoy!
