Optimism comes and goes

Optimism comes and goes

26 November – 2 December 2018

Optimism comes and goes throughout your life. Sometimes life seems to just flow effortlessly and everything appears to be going along nicely. Other times you can have challenges all throughout your day and you go between positive and negative thoughts and behaviours.

Everyone has stages in their life where they are challenged and tested by other people as well as situations, they find themselves in. By taking action and focussing on treating people, including yourself, with encouragement, you enable motivation and inspiration to overcome life’s tests.

It is said that everything has a positive and when you focus on the positive you discover the lessons in your experiences. You have a choice of whether to focus on the positive or negative and both of these choices have consequences both short and long term.

The more you focus on the positives the more likely you are to experience positive outcomes and the more you focus on the negative, down side of things it is more likely that more negativity is attracted into your life. Ever heard of the Law of Attraction?

When you are having negative thoughts use your self-discipline to change your thoughts, and behaviours, to more positive thoughts which will lead to positive actions and outcomes. This requires faith, idealism and hope – all of which you have within you if you choose to use them.

No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars,
or sailed to an unchartered land,
or opened a new heaven to the human spirit.

– Helen Keller
