Trust – placing trust

Trust – placing trust

29 October – 4 November 2018

Placing trust in yourself, others and situations, in general, is something you do all day, every day. You have placed trust in your past circumstances, your current condition as well as the fate of your future.

The most important person to place trust in though is yourself. You will go through tests and challenges throughout your life – some big, some small – where only you can make those necessary decisions that you may, or may not, feel totally comfortable with.

When you place trust in someone or something you are also practising faith. Having faith can be difficult in situations where you don’t see a positive option (at the time) and that’s when it’s important to also practice wisdom by asking for help or support from others when you need it. This opens you up to people who are willing to offer different perspectives on how to overcome and rise above whatever situation you find yourself in.

One thing is guaranteed – everything passes with time – if you are in a good place in your life remember to practice appreciation and gratitude. If you are in a challenging time in your life remember to practice faith, hope, and wisdom.

How you deal with trust in people and in life’s situations has an impact on the children in your life as well as your family and friends. The person who has your best interests at heart is yourself – so place that trust in yourself and make an informed decision so that you can be the best version of yourself you can be.

Self-development means constant transformation and growth throughout your life.  Allow the ‘Virtue Of The Week’ to serve as a gentle reminder of who you are, and who you want to be. Contribute by creating the world you want to live in as you are aware of developing your character each week and inspire others to do the same. Be the change you want to see in the world.

Actions to take to practice Trust (5 mins a day max.):

  • Every morning:
    1. Read the card
    2. Reflect on what the card is saying to you right now
    3. Have a great day. Trust that at the right time this virtue will come to the front of mind when you need it.
  • Every evening:
    1. Reflect on whether you implemented this virtue today
    2. If you didn’t – what could you do differently next time? If you did – acknowledge it within yourself.
