Compassion

Compassion – there’s a lot of talk about respect these days and teaching kids respect from the start – but there’s so many more character traits that are involved and need to be in a child’s world so that they understand what respect is.

Compassion for example. Kids can be cruel and bullying seems to be happening at such a young age.

By discussing with your child all the ‘Character Of The Week’ themes, respect is a result – long term. Respect for themselves and others.

It’s all the little things, and the everyday conversations that help children learn to be respectful towards everyone, including them.

Explaining to children that some children aren’t as fortunate as they might be – financial circumstances and health issues might be a place to start.
