Determination starts with a thought

Determined actions

Determination starts with a thought and becomes an action. You decide to want to do something and it’s going to happen no matter what.

Intention drives your determination. How much do you want to do what you want to do?

Your determination can get to you wherever you want to go, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes, that’s all.

Need some help?

Don’t be afraid, or too proud, to ask for help when you need it. People need people.

You might be alone in your vision, which can be big or small, but there’s always people who are willing to support you.

It’s hard, sometimes, to believe that others will support you. But it’s there, it’s knowing where to look which is somewhere different to where you are looking now.

Dream, and take action

Don’t give up on your dreams, regardless of what they are. There is a saying that if you visualise it, it can become a reality.

All dreams start with a vision. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have ships that float on water, aeroplanes that fly, and so much more.

Whatever your dream, take action. Step by step, you will become closer and closer to seeing your vision become a reality. How determined are you to make it happen?

“Small acts when multiplied by millions of people can transform the world”

Ways to help Children:

  • Scaling – Discuss how much they want what they want – speak to them about determination on a 1-10 scale. Leave it to them to decide and discover their tipping point.
  • Acknowledge – your child’s determination when they have completed a task.
  • Storytelling – such as the Hare & The Tortoise. Discuss the determination of the tortoise who kept focussed on his goal of finishing the race and kept the focus on his task.
