Encouragement

Encouragement is something we all need in life.

At every stage of life. Character traits have ‘friends’ that hang around – such as purposefulness. There’s always a purpose behind the need for encouragement – in numerous ways.

When you use words that encourage children you help them to discover a sense of self while building their confidence and resilience.

You need to do a good job of helping your child understand more about themselves so that their sense of sense is strong, solid and has ethical foundations. A better job than the drug dealer down the road, or the impersonator at the other end of the line.

By using particular words on a regular basis and having discussions about how they can implement those actions in their everyday life you can make a real impact on your child’s mental health in a positive way.

It’s like going for a every day walk – you don’t see the difference on a day to day basis but it has a massive impact in the long term in so many ways that you didn’t even know about. Talking to your child about their positive traits and how you see that in them, or how you want them to show it helps them to discover who they are and learn about what they value in themselves and others.

I’ve created a list of ’24 Words Every Child Should Hear Often’ – if you’d like me to share it just send me a DM with ’24W – (your email address)’ and I’ll share it with you.

Oh, here’s a challenge – try to encourage (compliment) 3 people every day this week – and your child daily. Naturally, it has to be genuine. Go for it!
