Faith

Faith is a meaningful part of life for children because it allows them to develop a sense of purpose and meaning.

Having faith can provide a sense of comfort in times of difficulty, and it can help children understand the importance of setting and achieving goals in life.
Faith children build relationships of trust and trustworthin with others and develop a sense of empathy and respect.

Furthermore, having faith can help children learn important values such as honesty, integrity, and respect, besides teaching them the importance of making moral and ethical decisions.

Having the faith to get through challenging times when things are tough teaches children the value of perseverance and resilience.

It encourages them to keep going even when times are tough. Having faith can help children develop a sense of hope and optimism for their future.
It is an invaluable tool in supporting them to remain motivated and focused on achieving their goals.
Keeping faith by having a positive perspective is essential for children as it helps them to stay motivated, build meaningful relationships, and develop a strong sense of self.

Having faith can also help children understand the importance of self-care and how to navigate the world around them.
Children place trust in adults to help them when they need it is also vital for children to have faith as it enables them to feel secure and supported in times of need.

In turn, it can help children develop a sense of trust in their relationships with adults, which is essential for their mental health and well-being.
It is fundamental to teach a child to have faith in their ability and trust their instincts.

Here are some ways you can do this:
1. Help them identify their feelings and emotions. Encourage children to talk about their feelings and help them to recognize the different emotions they may be feeling.
2. Talk to them about the importance of trusting their gut instinct. Explain to them that it is normal to be uncertain and that one of the best things they can do is to trust their instincts.
3. Model trusting behaviour. Show them how you trust your instincts and share how it has helped you previously.
4. Encourage positive self-talk. Inspire your child to replace any negative thoughts they could have and encourage them to use positive self-talk instead.
5. Foster a safe environment. Create an environment that is supportive and encourages trusting relationships with others.

Teach your child that faith requires action and that other character traits help, like hope, trust, perseverance, commitment and determination.
There are many opportunities to talk to a child about faith, such as after watching a movie. In most stories, there is a good guy and a bad guy, and we all hope the good guy wins.

However, life can show us that sometimes they need to be the hero by standing up for what they believe. Sometimes life isn’t fair; justice doesn’t seem to prevail.

Helping your child to learn about character traits and discussing what they see and don’t see in the world enables them to think about and decide what action they want to take to help make the world a better place.

Assisting your child to navigate their way in life can be difficult for a parent. It requires sharing with your child that there are good people in the world in addition to people who wish them harm. Doing this without scaring them requires honesty and tact.

Having faith in your own ability as a parent is another thing altogether.
