Flexibility

Raising Resilient Children

Raising a resilient child includes teaching them all about flexibility. When you encourage and support your child in developing ethical foundations within themselves, they establish a strong foundation.

Like an oak tree that stands tall and proud and has a solid foundation because of its strong roots, children need ethical foundations to help them grow and positively develop their character and integrity.

When a child grows up being mindful of their thoughts and subsequent behaviours, it aids their self-belief and self-confidence so that they adapt to life’s changes and challenges.

Independence - Every Parent's Goal

Because a child discovers their character traits at a young age, their ethical roots are more deeply embedded than if taught as a teenager or adult.

When raising your child with integrity, your child’s foundation for adaptability, resilience, and skilful navigation through life’s highs and lows, benefits them throughout their life.

Enabling your child to learn about flexibility has numerous benefits.

Life is full of changes, so learning how to be adaptable helps your child to adapt to new situations, environments and challenges as they come up.

Your child will also develop a growth mindset and see challenges as an opportunity for improvement which graciously impacts their learning and growth.

Here are three (3) benefits of raising a flexible child:
1. Emotional regulation: Children learn to recognise and manage their emotions more effectively.
2. Stress-reducing: When less fixated on rigid expectations, a child can embrace uncertainties with calmness and adaptability.
3. Future success: A flexible child is better prepared for challenges and opportunities they may encounter during their lifetime. Flexibility is a valuable skill in social and future workplace situations.

Raising a child to practice flexibility sets them up for success in numerous aspects of their life as they become equipped to handle difficult situations, build meaningful relationships and are more likely to have a positive attitude in life.
