Kindness – Is Never Wasted

Kindness is never wasted

Kindness is never wasted. Kindness makes the soul sing and the spirit soar. There is no limit to how kindness can be shown. Kindness can be a small gesture or a grand gesture. Or something in between. I have a fridge magnet that states ‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted’ and cannot think of a time which disputes that.

Sprinkle it around

Love makes the world go round, so they say. Where there is love, there is kindness. Kindness is love’s foundation. I challenge you to do five small acts of kindness each day for the rest of the month. You’ll notice a difference in how not only you feel but how you affect other people and your environment.

Kindness is free

There are numerous ways you can be kind. Smile first. Tell someone how you much you appreciate them. Lift someone’s spirit by telling them about how you noticed them display a beautiful character trait. Think kind thoughts. Phone a friend. Connect with someone by visiting them or catching up somehow. Refuse to engage in harmful behaviour.

Kindness is a choice

Practising kindness is a choice. Changing your thoughts from negative to positive is a choice. Looking for the positive in someone or something is a choice. Being kind starts with an idea followed by an action. You always have an opportunity to practice kindness.

The balance of kindness

Like all characteristics and virtues, kindness is a beautiful trait; however, like all characteristics and qualities, they include everyone. Including you. Sometimes people do so much for others and put everyone else first they forget to take care of themselves.

When you are kind to yourself, you do something that brings you joy, which in turn recharges your batteries so that you can continue to take care of others. Is there someone you know that needs to take some time out for themselves? How can you show kindness by helping them do this? There are so many things you can choose to be in your life, so always want to – be kind, be kind, be kind.
