Mindfulness – every little moment

Mindfulness – every little moment

What is mindfulness?

Living with mindfulness is being aware of every little moment that happens throughout your day. It can be hard, it can be easy; you can get lost in how others are impacting your day, or you can decide your priorities for the day and live accordingly. Starting your day with practices that help you live mindfully is the door to contentment.

Start your day

Start your day by using every little moment to live mindfully for the first hour at least. This may mean getting up early, which is painful at times; however, once your hour is up, I suspect you will be glad you did and feel so much better for it.

Mindful practices

Your mind is mighty, and you can use it to your advantage. Think happy thoughts, visualise how you want not just your day to go, but your life. It is said that if you can imagine it, it can happen. It refers to everything! Meditate. Reflect. Journal.

When around children you can teach them to be mindful by asking them about what their senses are telling them, what they see, what they can smell, what can be heard, how they feel in their tummy. Ask, then listen.

React and act

The more familiar you are with meditating, reflecting and listening to your intuition, you will discover the answer to all your issues is within you. This doesn’t mean to say you don’t need help as your intuition might lead you to connect with someone specific. This is why ideas come to our mind, you are being guided by your own intuition. Be mindful of whether your intuition is telling you to do something or it is your fear. Intuition does not put you in harm’s way, it actually tells you to run the other way.

The balance of mindfulness

It is challenging to be mindful of every little moment; however, the more familiar you are with living mindfully, the more aware you will be in control of your life. Rather than responding with feelings of frustration and anger, you will react mindfully. You will be more mindful of when you are responding differently to how you would like but these lessons in life help you to live more mindfully in future. We all have hard, challenging days where we do not live as mindfully as we would like so look at it at a life lesson and do not be hard on yourself – or others as they may only be having a bad day. When you are annoyed, anxious or angry treat everyone with kindness, including you – always be kind, be kind, be kind.
