Motivation

Is there something you want to achieve this week?

Can you explain what it is?

Do know the small steps required to get there?

Last week you focussed on inspiration and this week it seems timely that motivation is following inspiration.

Do you ever wonder what the difference is between inspiration and motivation?

Whenever there’s a ‘big picture’ event there’s also the detailed stuff that makes the ‘big picture’ come to fruition. Like planning a wedding, the inspiration is the end result – marriage – and it’s the small picture stuff that needs to be done to make the big thing happen.
The big picture stuff is inspiration and the small picture stuff is the motivation. Inspiration is having the goal in mind, whereas the motivation is the action you need to take to achieve that goal. Getting fit, or losing some weight is also something that inspires people.

The thought of being a fit person who can undertake something like a marathon, or eat healthy is inspirational, whereas the motivation is the everyday action that helps you achieve your goal.

Raising kids with integrity is inspirational, but the thought alone will not make that happen. Action is required. If you focus on one character trait of the week, each week of their life you will discover that the goal happens regardless.

It’s like taking a daily walk. If you walk every day you achieve, and maintain, the goal of being fit.

Inspirational thought happens because the motivational action has taken place.

All parents are inspired to raise their kids with integrity, but not many are motivated to make it happen.

I’m so glad you are part of this tribe and I hope you are understanding when you fall off course, as we all do, just remember it’s easy to get back on track.
