Simplicity – Keep it simple

18-24 February 2019

Simplicity means keep it simple sweetheart. When you live your life in a simple environment that has everything you need and very little extras you not only keep it simple but you feel a sense of freedom and clarity regarding what’s important in life.

At the moment Marie Kondo’s ‘KonMari’ is very popular and like so many others I have got caught up in the desire to be clutter free and more organized. I have gathered all my clothes and put them in one pile and picked up each item and decided whether or not it brings me joy and given it away if it no longer brings me joy and decided it could bring somebody else joy instead of remaining in my wardrobe. It feels great!

Have you ever walked into a holiday unit and felt comfortable and free just by walking in the door? Could it be because you have everything you need there and very little extras? When you look in the kitchen cupboards and drawers you discover everything is easily seen, easily accessible and yet there’s still space for more things even though you don’t need anything else.

We all gather so many bits and pieces in our homes which we don’t touch, use or even realize is there because there are so many other items in the same drawer or cupboard. I can’t wait to declutter my kitchen – but the next step in the KonMari method is books which I’ll stick to first.

When you have less material things in your life you appreciate what have and discover that life flows more smoothly. Your mind feels freer as you are more aware of what you have and where things are. You are appreciative and feel such a sense of freedom and gratitude because you no longer waste your time or energy on what’s not important. Give it a go – what do you want to simplify in your life?

Less is more – Robert Browning

How do you build character? You focus on one characteristic a week. Often when people go through challenging times in their life they are referred to as character building opportunities. We strive to help you build your character on a weekly basis so that when you go through challenging times, as we all do, you will be better equipped emotionally and mentally to tackle and cope with what life throws at you. By joining our tribe you will not only contribute by creating the world you want to live in – you will inspire others to do the same. Be the change you want to see in the world. Make a difference.

How to practice the ‘Character Of The Week’ (5 mins a day max.):

  • Every morning: 1) Read the card; 2) Reflect on what the card is saying to you right now; 3) Have a great day by trusting that this characteristic will come to mind at the right time during your day
  • Every evening: 1) Reflect whether, when and how you strengthened this characteristic today; 2) if you did strengthen it be proud of who you are; if you didn’t strengthen that characteristic what would do differently next time if you got the opportunity.
  • Life is all about living and learning – and taking action – enjoy!
