Strength – your powerful capacity

Strength – your powerful capacity

Strength is a muscle

Every character quality you possess strengthens the more you practice it – whether it be patience, self-discipline, commitment, reliability or compassion.

When you feel frustrated, it is a sign that you have an or spiritual muscle that wants to be strengthened. The more you focus on being confident or being courageous, the more the quality grows within you. Plus the more you strength it as you apply its practice.

Your powerful capacity

Life has numerous challenges, for all of us. At different times of our lives, we all are required to strengthen our character traits in a variety of ways. Life is amazing like that.

Regardless of how strong you feel in any particular characteristic, life continually shows you ways to further apply each attribute so you can take the opportunity to deepen that trait. The benefit is that when you focus on one feature, you’ll realise that you also strengthen other features at the same time, which builds your resilience.

Resilience

Resilience is a powerful sense of being able to cope with anything that life throws your way as your power within you grows. Every character quality you possess has a never-ending depth which you strengthen by utilising it when needed. Each week when you focus on a character quality, you will become more self-aware of the character traits within you, which makes you more aware of opportunities to practice them.

By steadfastly focusing on a character trait, you strengthen your character, which deepens your resilience and results in your ability to cope with life’s difficulties as they arise.

You’ll be surprised at how strong you become emotionally and mentally by focussing on one characteristic a week. You’ll notice that each week because you’re mindful of a virtue there will be thoughts that go through your mind about how you can strengthen and grow stronger within yourself.

Opportunities will arise to help you grow, and you’ll know it when it happens. Your subconscious will suddenly recall what trait to apply, so trust your instinct. The foundation for all attributes is ethical and serves both you and others in positive ways.

Bouncing back

It is said that life does not test you beyond your capacity. However, I’m sure that you, like me, have wondered whether that is true during challenging times of your life. We all have testing times and have to rise above life’s difficulties. Sometimes you may feel like you don’t know what to do because you are so involved and emotional about your situation and can’t see the forest for the trees.

You know that the only way forward is to move forward. The more aware you are of character traits, the more you will know which character trait is the answer to dealing with whatever problem you are facing. Then it is just a matter of applying it. Just so you’re aware, the confidence, and/or courage to take action, is likely to be just outside your comfort zone.

Little by little

Your strength of character – your resilience – grows little by little, day by day and consequently, so does your self-confidence as a result of knowing yourself and being more self-aware.

The downside of strength

The downside to strength is in the perception. When you were at school, it seemed that the bullies were strong – but actually, they were the weakest in the room. Bullying happens at every stage in life and is one of the lessons you learn at school and later realise it is rife in the workplace also.

Strength is in the ability to make a positive change, not the ability to participate in negative behaviours. The power lies within people who can practice their self-discipline and find their internal strength to take action. People who make a more positive change for the benefit of not only themselves but humanity as a whole.

Leadership qualities are not displayed by someone who is raising their voice to criticise or intimidate others. It is developing and strengthening spiritual muscle. Always remember to – be kind, be kind, be kind.
