Placing trust in something or someone should be balanced out with thoughtfulness and wisdom.

When going through a challenging phase in life, it can be hard to have trust in the future because sometimes you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone goes through difficult times in life and it will pass.

When you don’t know what to do next, listen to your intuition. The answer is within you. You know what you need to do next. I like to go for a walk. It clears my head and always puts me in a positive frame of mind. What do you like to do? Ask yourself if you don’t know.

Trust in yourself

You are the person you can trust most in life. If not you, then who? Expect that you’ll make mistakes and wrong decisions now and then because hey, just like me and everyone else you’re not perfect.

I’ll bet there are times when you have made wrong decisions, or chosen to ignore something rather than address it when you had the inkling you shouldn’t of.

When you stuff up, don’t beat yourself up. Learn from your experience. What did it teach you and how will it help you in future? I’ll guarantee you are better off from having that life lesson, although it may not seem so obvious at the time.

Keep it balanced

While it would be great to live in an ideal world, we don’t. However, many wonderful people have your best interests at heart. Some of these people you already know, some you’re yet to meet.

Concerning people you trust use your thoughtfulness and wisdom. If someone degrades you, humiliates you or intentionally says or does hurtful things to you then question yourself – why you have them in your life?

If your instinct is telling you to be careful, then be careful. Keep yourself safe and surround yourself with people who inspire and support you. Be the first to do so.

PARENTING TIPS

1. Speak to children about intuition and that it’s a feeling they have in their stomach about something or someone and ask them to listen to their intuition and what it’s saying to them and explain how it’s an inbuilt safety thing, not just a like/dislike about a person.

2. Ask your child who their 5 most trusted people in the whole wide world is that they feel would help them if they ever needed it. Let those people know.

3. Discuss with your child the importance of respecting themselves and keeping company with people that support them, and not those that criticise, humiliate or hurt them.
