Sacrifice – what’s more important?

Sacrifice and discover what’s important

Sacrifice is something that you do every day. You make decisions around two or more choices by weighing various things up.

The decision you make should probably be based on what you consider to be the more important issue in the long run. But is that always the case?

Sometimes a lot of consideration isn’t needed as it’s clear what is important. Your values help you make decisions, at times, very quickly, about which way to go.

People, possessions or primary?

When life throws a curve ball, obstacle or difficult situation your way it always clarifies what your values are, who or what is important to you.

Health is everything as the saying goes. Making us remember the importance of this Coronavirus has highlighted this by jogging memories throughout the world.

Money is another thing that people either hold close to themselves; willing offer it to help family or friends out or generously give it away by sacrificing it for what’s more important – medical research that can help people on a global level.

Prioritising life’s essentials

Once you prioritise what’s most important to you then sacrificing doesn’t seem like a big issue as you don’t feel like you are sacrificing anything.

However, there are times when decisions are difficult because it seems easier to go with whatever is happening now rather than considering long-term consequences.

COVID-19 has helped people prioritise what’s important to them – health, relationships and financial stability are high on the list. There are many other topics to consider also. What are your top three priorities and what are you sacrificing if you haven’t yet got them?
